A CRNA is a qualified anesthesia provider whose responsibilities include the administration of all types of anesthesia


  • Review and complete a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient. Including in the pre-anesthetic assessment, the responsibility to recognize the need for additional studies or consultation.
  • Develop and carry out an anesthetic plan. Including the selection and implementation of appropriate drugs, monitors and necessary procedures.
  • Provide continuous vigilant monitoring of the patient preoperatively. This includes correcting and responding to abnormal patient responses or surgical complications.
  • Complete an anesthetic record intraoperatively.
  • Transfer patient safely to PACU.
  • Manage emergency situations including initiating and participating in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Maintain universal precaution at all times.
  • Respect and uphold the patient’s safety and confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Current and unrestricted Kentucky State license as a CRNA.
  • A graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia.
  • Certification by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthesia.
  • Current ACLS and BLS are required
  • New graduates are welcome



  • Trauma experience preferred


  • This is a level one trauma center: Must have the ability to keep up in a fast paced acute care hospital environment.  This requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Position consists of working all shifts (Including evenings, nights, & weekends).
  • Some exposure to communicable diseases and radiation exposure common in health care environments.
