Under supervision of the administrative director and managers, performs all duties necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of all departmental dispensing and pharmaceutical care services. Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team to promote wellness, maintain current health, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness. S/he works to promote the compliance with established policies within the Department of Pharmacy and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. S/he serves as a mentor and educator for staff and students. S/he develops positive relationships in satisfying the needs of internal and external customers. Supervises support staff in all work performed. Demonstrates competence to provide pharmaceutical care for neonatal (birth-discharge), pediatric (birth-11 years), adolescent (12-18 years), adult (19-65 years), and geriatric (66 years and over) patients. S/he supports and participates in the institutional mission of providing quality patient care, education, and research.
Education & Training: Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy required. Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
Experience: Hospital experience is desireable. PGY1 Residency required. PGY2 Critical Care Residency or equivalent experience required. Hospital pharmacy experience required.
License & Certification: Registered pharmacist in the State of Kentucky.
