Overview

JOB SUMMARY

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for performing daily payroll operations, including but not limited to Time and Attendance, Payroll Processing, and Pay Statements. This position is also responsible for providing customer service to both internal and external customers in regards to payroll issues. The Payroll Specialists is also expected to work collaboratively with the members of the Human Resource team.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the timely and accurate processing of payroll and payroll related data.
  • Serve as a payroll liaison with ADP and other payroll vendors, including coordinating activities and resolving issues.
  • Assist with managing the time and attendance module and associated interface with the payroll system.Collaborate with HR to ensure employee changes are entered in the ADP system in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Clear understanding of benefits and their impact on employees pay.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to ensure that employees and managers receive accurate, timely and appropriate information regarding payroll.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and documents, including required data for federal and state laws and guidelines.Provide reports for payroll, time and attendance, employee statistics, benefits and retirement plan contributions and employer match.
  • Provide assistance on special projects as assigned.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent education is preferred; prior payroll experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of ADP strongly preferred.
  • Experience with a centralized processing payroll for 2000 employees required.
  • Excel skills required: pivot, v-lookup, and formulas.

  • Strong decision making, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong work ethic and team player.
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office environment – office, sitting, computer, walking, lifting, etc.
  • Ability to work on evenings and/or weekends, if necessary.
