The Medical Staff Informatics Specialist is the liaison between the medical staff community and the information systems. The responsibilities include: First point of contact for IT support, provide one-on-one support services for physicians, assist with the creation and maintenance of PowerPlans and PowerNotes for the physicians, educating physicians on current systems, and assisting with implementing, upgrading and supporting application systems.
Education & Training: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of Clinical training and experience.
Experience: Four or more years of experience in healthcare informatics or clinical support is required. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and work effectively with a diversity of personalities. Must be approachable, show respect for others and can present data with effective communication and presentation skills. Must be an effective consensus builder. Must possess a good grasp of clinical work flow in both inpatient and outpatient settings, an interest in clinical information systems and outcomes measurement. Must be politically savvy, have a high tolerance for ambiguity and work successfully in a matrix management model. Prior experience and knowledge of Cerner and/or Dragon functionality is desired.
