The BMT Laboratory Technologist position includes processing or assisting in the processing of cellular products. This may involve manipulation of cellular products, including volume adjustment, cryopreservation, thawing, and preparation for infusion. The technologist will collect peripheral blood progenitor cells or other cellular products. The Technologist will also share role as the NMDP Transplant Coordinator for the program. The technologist will participate in data analysis and quality initiatives.
EDUCATION & TRAINING: MD/DO, PhD, MS, BS or BA in Chemistry or Biological Science or Medical Technology; qualified as technologist/technician under CLIA rules
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years experience in Oncology, Blood & Marrow Transplant, and Apheresis preferred.
LICENSE & CERTIFICATION: MT (ASCP), CLS/NCA, MT (AMT), MT (HEW), AHA BLS
Individuals who are newly ASCP certified beginning January 2004 must participate in the BOR Certification Maintenance program.
